Spring Living is the Retirement Community platform of Marlin Spring, a Real Estate company that strategically acquires, develops, constructs and repositions assets throughout North America.
ROLE PROFILE
ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and manager reports.
- Develop and maintain an effective internal control environment with a primary focus on retirement residences.
- Coordinate, prepare, and submit appropriate tax filings and other government reports by the required deadlines.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
- Assist in the development/implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems to control, manage and report on the group's operating costs and capital expenditures program across all retirement residences.
- Provide support in the annual operating, capital planning and budgeting processes.
- Assist with Yardi optimization for the business and ensure operational administration is managed effectively.
- Help manage cash flow and working capital requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders.
- Assist with management and mentorship of the Spring Living corporate finance team.
- Support the Controller with adhoc tasks and projects as required.
Leadership:
- Present accurate, timely, and relevant reporting to the Controller
- Provide guidance, education and expertise to the Leadership Team in the residences regarding budgets, financials, variance, Yardi utilization, and procurement
- Develop strong working relationships throughout all levels of the organization
- Bring your energy and curiosity to all levels to inspire those around you

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Comfortable working in a dual GAAP reporting environment (IFRS/ASPE)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Completed postsecondary accounting degree, diploma and/or certificate.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in a senior Finance/Accounting position. Accounting experience in the senior living industry preferred.
- Working towards CPA or being close to designation is preferred.
- Experience in a private equity environment with a focus on real estate and asset
- Advanced excel skills and familiarity with Yardi preferred.
