Your Role and Responsibilities

_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Complete new employee orientation / training and maintain existing employee training
  • Provide theory, practical training and ongoing retraining (HRDownloads, etc.)
  • Work with Dept. / Plant Managers to schedule training including interplant transfers / assignment workers and ensure training and certification is completed
  • Ensure mandatory and jobspecific training is completed and advise HR Generalist, plant/operations management
  • Schedule CORE training and assist to develop Marwood Pathways Training
  • Coordinate Train the Trainer requirements for all Marwood trainers
  • Formulate PowerPoint presentations as required
  • Schedule third party training (external)
  • Conduct training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace
  • Complete and maintain training records in HRIS / PLEX
  • Issue Certificate of Competency for Lift-Truck, Overhead Crane, Aerial Lifting Devices, etc.
  • Maintain confidentiality where required and advise Human Resources Management on important issues
  • Ensure JHSC committee meetings and recommendations are followed up on
  • Recommend corrective measures as required
  • Continuous professional development
  • Assist with HSE compliance auditing
  • Provide HSE manager with WHMIS, JHSC monthly meetings and inspections, completion of corrective action items, PDD development, safety group requirements, reports, etc.
  • Other training and HSE items that may arise from time to time

_ Key Requirements__:
_**- Post-Secondary in Associated Studies

  • Teaching and/or HSE Management Certificate (an asset)
  • 25 yrs experience (Manufacturing / Technical environment Electrical and Mechanical an asset)
  • Computer skills, Word, Excel/Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent people skills and presentation delivery

_ Additional Technical and Professional Requirements__: _**- Company New Employee Orientation / relevant training

  • WSIB Level I and Level II and First Aid certificate
  • WHMIS / Lockout, TDG, Due Diligence, and all other relevant areas
  • Certified Lift Truck, Overhead Crane, Aerial Lifting Devices etc.
  • Technical Standards 16949/ ISO14001/ ISO 45001Training Requirements Awareness
  • Working knowledge of employment regulations requirements, (i.e. ESA, Human Rights, Privacy Act, etc.)
  • All company HR and job related policies, procedures, and practices
  • Working knowledge of applicable Health and Safety Standards requirements (eg. OHSA, CSA, ANSI, NIOSH, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
