Position Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for providing store leadership at their designated PenguinPickUp store.

This position includes performing a wide range of administrative and support activities for the department and District Supervisor in order to facilitate efficient operations of PenguinPickUp.


Responsibilities:


  • Assumes leadership role with accountability for maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional Customer experiences.
  • Hire, train, and motivate customer services associates to achieve key metrics, KPI and maintain high standards of customer service
  • Analyze and understand various reporting statements
  • Ensure that the store is compliant with the IKEA STARR.
  • Learn PenguinPickUp policies, Standard Operating Procedures, & Store Operations protocols & follow them
  • Create employee schedules and monitor their performance, including performance management, timeliness and accuracy
  • Analyze metrics, KPI and data to identify trends and develop plans to meet and exceed customer service and cost target
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and receiving products while maintaining optimal levels of stock
  • Ensure visual merchandising standards are met to create an attractive store environment
  • Maintain or improve on the profitability of the PenguinPickUp store by managing store expenses, including payroll, supplies, and other costs
  • Taking a proactive approach in process improvement / developing efficiencies;
  • Foster and maintain courteous and professional relationships with our retailers and logistics providers;
  • Maintaining a clean and safe physical environment including but not limited to shoveling snow, salting walkways and general clean up of common areas
  • Be responsible for notifying property managers regarding any onsite issues;
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local laws and regulations
  • Maintain effective, open line of communication with District Supervisor
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • PenguinPickUp unit(s) assigned during the course of employment can change from time to time;
  • Other duties may be assigned from time to time.

Academic Requirements:


  • Minimum academic requirement for this role is a High School Diploma
  • Any relevant certifications are an asset (what are some relevant certifications?)
  • Required Skills/Experience:
  • 2+ years of store manager or 3+ years of assistant store manager experience
  • OR Minimum 1+ year working at PenguinPickUp, with experience in managing and leading store operations
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels of management within the company and outside the organization
  • Positive and energetic team player with a strong leadership capability, knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and marketing techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and have excellent computer skills with the ability to use a variety of software,
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude when faced with difficult situations;
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering information;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize workload;

Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to work in varied outdoor temperatures and sustain physical activity levels over time, including being able to lift 50 lbs, squatting, standing for a prolonged period and walking throughout shift, and wear safety shoes throughout shift, adhering to all Health and Safety requirements;
  • Must be willing and able to wear the required uniform;
  • Maintain a clean, and presentable appearance at all times.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability as needed
  • Hours 40 hours per week
