Boulevard Coffee Roasting Company has been around the block for 17 years now. It was one of the first café to open at the UBC.
The intention was to create a community and safe space for faculty, students and other community members to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
We pride ourselves on our organic bird safe coffee that we roast in house.What is unique about this café is that is hires members of the community and students who study at UBC.
We understand the uncertain nature of life and studies and cater the changing needs of not just our customers but also our staff.
Job Brief
We are looking to hire applicants for two separate positions, an Assistant Manager as well as a Supervisor to organize daily operations and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service.
As a café Assistant Manager your main responsibilities include scheduling shifts for barista and bakers, monitoring daily expenses and revenue, conducting inventory checks and placing orders.
As a Supervisor you will ensure daily managerial tasks get completed, shifts get covered, take on projects for the café, as well you will audit daily tasks such as cleaning and stocking by the staff.
To be successful in this role you should have at least 1+ years of experienceworking at a café and must be flexible to work weekends and holidays.
Ultimately you will help increase profitability, boost customer engagement and turn our café into UBC's favourite spot.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daytoday operations
- Hire and onboard new staff members
- Train baristas on drink preparation and proper use of coffee
- Train bakers for all kitchen tasks
- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies as needed
- Maintain and update records of daily food sales, accounting, cash reconciliation and employee hours
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and delivery excellent
- Ensure all café areas are clean and health safe
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty
Required Skills:
- Worked experience as a Café Manager/ assistant manager
- Hands on experience with professional coffee machines
- Flexible working availability
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a team
- High school diploma at least
