OVERVIEW:


The future is bright for golf in Canada, and you will be right in the middle of it all at First Tee - Ontario, Golf Canada's flagship junior program.

First Tee -Ontario launched in 2021 and is looking for an experienced major gift fundraising professional to lead our portfolio and grow our signature event, the First Tee - Ontario Cup.

This role will be primarily work from home, with travel to chapter-staff meetings, donor engagements, events, and program locations as required.


The desired applicant will report directly to the Director of Development, First Tee - Canada, and will be responsible for achieving fundraising targets as part of an annual campaign.

PRIMARY DUTIES:


  • Fundraising 70%
  • Cultivate, pitch and close major gift prospects
  • Secure and sell the First Tee
  • Ontario Cup annual fundraiser
  • Work collaboratively with events to ensure outstanding donor experience at all events
  • Develop, execute, and manage an annual fundraising campaign and events
  • Manage all stewardship activities with existing and prospective donors including website
  • Assist in the creation of creative and marketing materials
  • Manage and adhere to budget
  • Marketing/Communications 15%
  • Assist in the creation of promotional brochures to increase awareness of the programs and facility
  • Manage thirdparty event policies and communication
  • Assist in communication activities for openings, special events, newsletter, printed materials, and the chapter website
  • Help create print and video materials for communicating program impact to donors, golf clubs, and event partners
  • Administration 15%
  • Manage the donor gift cycle including identifying prospects, soliciting and stewarding donors
  • Manage pledges, invoicing, and payment receipts
  • Create reports on budget projections and YTD results. Solicit auction items; plan events, sell teams and sponsorships; assist in general communications including event follow up
  • Contribute to the chapter business plan and oversee its implementation
  • Work collaboratively with the other chapter Development Officer and chapter Program Manager to enhance donor experience
  • Work closely with the finance team on yearend reconciliation
  • Lead Ambassador Committee meetings and grow their annual giving

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:


  • University/College degree or equivalent preferred
  • 47 years experience in fundraising
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong budget management, organization, financial and IT skills
  • Database experience
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Knowledge of golf an asset

Golf Canada Foundation inspires young players to build strong core values and character while living a healthy lifestyle.

Since 2013 we have grown significantly and funded junior golf, women's golf, high performance golf, sustainability, and heritage projects, while developing a national network of passionate donors and partners.


HOURS OF WORK:


Golf Canada Foundation's regular hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, eight hours a day, five days a week including a one-hour lunch.

Due to the nature of this position, travel will be required along with the need to work events on some evenings and weekends to meet the objectives of your employment.
