    Description

    The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI), a non-profit organization serving the community of Burnaby for over 60 years, supports people with developmental disabilities to have a good life. BACI is looking for a motivated person, who is well versed in hardware, software, and mobile technologies - this opportunity is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. Our cross-functional administration team provides support to every level of our agency. The ideal candidate is resourceful, willing to learn, and a good communicator. We are looking for someone seeking experience with technical support, Microsoft operating systems, and network configuration. At BACI we use creative and technology-oriented ways to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

    Position: Technology Support Assistant - Temporary 8 weeks

    Rate of Pay: $24.43 per hour + 10.6% in lieu vacations and paid holidays

    Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours will be set between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

    Start Date:May 2024

    Responsibilities

  • Provide general technological know-how to staff and supported individuals.
  • Assist in the research, development, and deployment of internal web and software systems.
  • Create and edit organization-wide technical service and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with various teams to develop technologies that improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
  • Provide consultation on internal systems both in person and remotely.
  • Qualifications

  • Experience with using web applications: Office 365, Jira, Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Operating systems & Windows Servers
  • Experience with home or small business network setups.
  • Nice to Have

  • Basic scripting skills with PowerShell.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or Comparable MDM systems.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies such as how LAN, WAN, VPN and DHCP work.
  • Familiarity with the Community Living sector or non-profits.
