Connections Community Services Society's
Generations Homework Club is designed to help elementary school students with additional support and mentorship.
This program strives to provide guidance with improving the student's skill at homework, building self-confidence, improve social skills, and foster an overall positive attitude towards school.
You'll meet once-a-week for 90 minutes, over a 10 week session, and work on numeracy, complete activities, and play games.
You'll meet once a week for an 1.5 hours during the school semester and work with the students - whether that be with their homework or playing with board games It is important to note that
you do NOT need previous tutoring or mentoring experience.
Our Mentors are
- Grade 10 or higher.
- Volunteers who are not professional tutors but individuals who have a desire to support children.
- A means of transportation to the location (Richmond Public Library) to ensure you are on time.
Our students who participate in the program are
- Children in grades 4 to
- From families who are not otherwise able to financially pursue academic support outside of school
- Students who may require additional support.
Location and Time
This is a
in-person opportunity at the Richmond Public Library (Brighouse Location). This runs from
3:30 to 5:00 pm every Thursday (during School Semester).
