Your Opportunity:


Consort is a small rural community located in the East Central part of the province only 60 km from the Saskatchewan border, 350 km east of Calgary, and 225 km from Red Deer.

The Consort Hospital provides Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services to a 15 bed Long Term Care unit, and a 5 bed respite facility, Community collection and DI services are also provided to area residents from Monday to Friday.

You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and processing of biological specimens, performing ECG and Holter monitoring testing, referral and dispatch of samples.

You will be working with a small Lab and DI team, who work closely with nursing and other health care professionals.


Description:


As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.

You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Connect Care LIS, MUSE, Cardioday, WHMIS training, and TDG certification preferred.
