JOB SUMMARY


Reporting to the Director, Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure, the Manager, Cybersecurity serves as a cybersecurity advisor, responsible for the development, definition, and organizational delivery of cybersecurity standards, practices, architectural and systems initiatives to improve and maintain both IT and OT security across Hydro Ottawa.

The Manager, Cybersecurity provides vision, governance, and drives security requirements into existing and new solutions, liaises consistently across the business lines, raising security awareness, and audit and report on security initiatives in accordance with the strategy.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, evaluate and recommend continuous security enhancements to cybersecurity architecture, IT and OT operations, and physical security.

Conduct studies within and outside the organization to ensure compliance with standards and current industry cybersecurity best‐practices.


Define and recommend cybersecurity policies and processes in order to ensure that the IT Security program aligns with industry standards or best practices.

Participate in the planning and implementation of security measures for all IT projects.


In concert with established industry advisory methods, identify current and emerging issues and threats and serve as needed, as a cybersecurity liaison for matters of heightened significance.


Analyze and prioritize threats and recommend measures to improve the safety and security of all internal assets, systems and data.


Lead and report on IT and OT compliance audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments including activities related to internal and external auditors to ensure due diligence in protecting information and assets according to its value, classification, risk of loss or compromise.


Collaborate with external agencies and other organizations and vendors to understand trends, issues and emerging cybersecurity threats, which can assist in improving security controls within Hydro Ottawa.

Contribute to operational and architectural posture, definitions, configuration, rules for network, access, permissions etc.

Perform other related duties as appropriate.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Postsecondary education in a related discipline such as computer science or engineering
  • Minimum seven years of relevant and progressive work experience in the field of, technical security controls, databases and operating systems.
  • Thorough experience in analyzing, developing, monitoring and creating policies, procedures, processes and systems in support of IT security and risk management.
  • Experience in designing, auditing and reviewing critical systems that include large‐scale distributed systems, Internet and network protocols, and e‐mail systems.
  • In‐depth understanding of the industry trends, standards, regulations and best practices in IT security and risk. Preferably CISSP, CISM certifications
  • Strong project management skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • English essential, bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
  • Canadian Citizen
  • SECRET Security Clearance

Pay Range Minimum:
$98,210.33


Pay Range Maximum:
$147,369.15

This position is eligible for variable pay
