Reporting to the CFO, the controller will play an integral part of the leadership team and holds a critical role in overall financial management, reporting and planning.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent with a professional accreditation, CPA or equivalent designation
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and internal controls
  • High adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Technologically savvy
  • Strong organization skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines through efficient and effective work
  • Automotive or RV dealership experience is considered an asset but is not required

Duties Include

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING

  • Manage and assist Accounting personnel with issues pertaining to banking, accounts receivables and payables, inventories, capital assets, sales, operating expenses, personnel and human resources
  • Direct monthend close routines preparing journal entries and working papers
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
  • Perform variance analysis and related follow up
  • Prepare monthly G.S.T. returns and G.S.T. account reconciliations
  • Assist with year end procedures

1. FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Prepare financial reports on a monthly basis as follows:
  • Internal financial statements for senior management and owners
  • Departmental P&L reports for Sales, Parts, Service and Marketing departments
  • Bank schedules and operating statements
  • Spader 20 Management Group reports
  • Stats Canada reports, as required
  • Design and develop new reports, as needed

2. OPERATIONS

  • Provide operational and technical assistance to Woody's management and staff
  • Assist with customs clearing and brokerrelated issues
  • Assist with project management initiatives involving communication, computer hardware and software, and strategic planning issues
  • Develop improved operating procedures and tools to strengthen internal controls

3. I.T. SUPPORT
Assist with the daily administration of the I.D.S.

computer system performing duties such as:

  • Daily file backup routines
  • Monitor network performance, connectivity issues and perform maintenance routines
  • User setup and security analysis
  • Provide hardware and software support, as needed
  • Liaise with thirdparty I.T. consultants
