    AIM Roads, a subsidiary of Acciona Infrastructure Maintenance, North America, a Global Infrastructure provider, is seeking a Senior Payroll & HR Coordinator. Reporting to the HR Manager AIM Roads, the Senior Pay & HR Coordinator will be the senior administrator of payroll, leading two Pay & HR Coordinators, across two service areas for 300 Union and 35 Excluded employees across the sunny Okanagan. This position supports all functions of the HR Manager including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, training and development, benefits, and general HR administration. This role may report to the office in Armstrong or Summerland and is an onsite role. This position will also support other areas of the business as required. Salary: $76,800.00-$93,500.00 per year

    Job Description

    Responsibilities

    • Process payroll for salaried & Union employees on a biweekly basis.
    • Administer employee updates within the HRIS.
    • Administer employee benefits and answer employee questions pertaining to the program.
    • Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations are accurate and timely.
    • Explain the payroll and benefits process and deductions to employees including new hires during orientation.
    • Under the direction of the HR Manager, you will be the senior pay lead and provide guidance to the HR & Pay Coordinators.
    • Assist with full cycle recruitment including job postings internally and externally, candidate searches, resume screening, phone screening, scheduling & performing interviews, reference checks, background checks, criminal record checks and job offer presentations.
    • Provide administrative support within HR including drafting letters, coordinating projects, onboarding, off boarding, and employee transfers.
    • Work closely with the HR team as required.
    • Ensure HR practices and programs support Acciona's & AIM's corporate culture; provide a platform for engaging people through continuous feedback and dialogue.
    • Promote a service oriented, enthusiastic, collaborative and respectful, fun environment.
    • Other administrative support as required by the business.

    Essential Functions

    • Process payroll by established deadlines.
    • Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
    • Develop, manage and maintain comprehensive payroll records.
    • Ensure compliance to applicable laws, Collective Agreements, and Company policies/procedures.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to deal with sensitive situations ethically, with honesty and integrity.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Solid experience with MS Word and Excel software.
    • Ability to adapt and learn new processes quickly.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Experience with an HRIS (experience with Ceridian and or Workday would be an asset).
    • Ability to travel within Canada as required.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    Experience/Qualifications:

    • 3+ years related Canadian payroll experience.
    • 3+ years related HR experience.
    • Previous experience with benefits administration would be an asset.
    • Payroll Certification (Canadian Payroll Association) is essential.
    • CPHR would be an asset.
