- Must have experience working in direct patient care environment.
- One year of recent directly related experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant is required.
- Minimum Grade XII with a certificate or diploma from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant program.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer use with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based software.
- It is recommended that, at a minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of CPR training.
- Works within the Centre's core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with patients, therapists and other health care personnel.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Enhances patient experience as identified and supported within the MHC Strategic Plan.
- Commitment to quality control and quality assurance in all service provision.

- Must demonstrate adequate motor coordination or dexterity, strength and endurance to perform the complete spectrum of job functions.
- May be exposed to dust, grease, oil, infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress.
