Job Summary
What is the opportunity?

This leader drives a Commercial Banking Advisor (CBA) team to deliver on Commercial Financial Services' strategic business priorities.

The Manager Commercial Banking Advisor actively coaches the team to develop highly engaged, knowledgeable, and strongly capable advisors who consistently provide proactive, meaningful advice to deliver an exceptional client experience in fulfilling onboarding and operational banking needs.

Working closely with all RBC partners, the ability to build strong relationships is an important element of this role. Due to the collaboration involved in building these relationships, mobility within the region is required.

This role will cover multiple commercial markets in the Southwestern region.


What will you do?

  • Conduct effective sales management routines tailored to bring value to each team member, while maintaining a forward looking view. Focus on key behaviors and activities to move referral opportunities forward and win business
  • Ensure and coach CBAs on consistent routines and collaboration with the Client Relationship Team in efforts to acquire and onboard new clients and help existing clients meet their business goals
  • Provide coaching to enable delivery of the RBC advice promise, matching solutions to client needs uncovered in the Annual Digital Service review and other proactive client touchpoints
  • Coach to effective pipeline management routines including maximizing the use of technology to follow through on all client strategies, sales activities and opportunities, as well as building corporate memory and enable the continuity of client servicing
  • Develop and coach to a market plan for the team to support the overall Business goals, adjusting activities as required
  • Lead team to share, with the Client Relationship Team, the responsibility for robust client relationships built upon strong contact management routines

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proven sales leadership skills, including the ability to coach and lead employees through organizational change
  • Demonstrated ability to grow the business through effective partnering and relationship activities including identifying and implementing strategies for business growth.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen as well as strong business and organizational knowledge including knowledge and/or experience across Commercial Financial Services,
  • Demonstrated passion for putting clients first and the ability to impact and influence sales leaders, employees and partners
  • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills and commitment to ongoing learning

Nice-to-have

  • Commercial Banking experience in an Relationship Manager or Commercial Banking Advisor role
  • Postsecondary education at college or university level in business administration or financial management preferred e.g. BBA, B. of Commerce or equivalent onthejob learning
  • Previous people management experience within the financial services industry is preferred as well as experience leading remote teams
  • Knowledge of business banking & cash management products, services and delivery/fulfillment channels
