    The Desktop Support Intern is responsible for support of Elements laptop computers, printers and peripherals. They will work closely with other members of the information technology department to learn to support all business and IT users and will perform job duties with minimal to moderate supervision. The work may involve communications via telephone, email, or in person.

    This role is an in-office 5 days/week role and is responsible for "hands on keyboard" work with the office. This will include but not limited to conference room equipment maintenance and setup, moves, adds and changes for users.

    Duration- approximately end of May 2024- end of Aug. 2024

    A Day in the Life

    • Help to/shadow instillations of operating systems and software
    • Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues
    • All on-site "hands and feet" activities (Completes routine user moves and adds, conference room and digital signage support, hardware support)
    • Help to troubleshoot devices; utilize IT tools for remote management of desktops and laptops, track inventory, push upgrades
    • Maintain and update inventories of IT assets as needed
    • Provide user friendly, on-hand support to the users in multiple locations
    • Inform customers on the status of their requests and ensure customer satisfaction
    • Help to document and maintain procedures according to departmental standards
    • Work collaboratively with internal and external groups to improve overall customer service and support
    • Other duties may be assigned

    Requirements

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or have recently completed degree
    • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.IT background
    • Knowledge of technical infrastructure and applications
    • Working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office Suite and M365
    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
    • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical people
    • Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
    • Adaptable to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Analytical and technical problem-solution oriented
    • Strong service orientation and time management skills
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
