WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Electrical Discipline Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Progressive, Intermediate and Final reviews of the FD 3D Model.
  • Drive the FD 3DM technical quality completed by Elomatic and ensure compliance against project requirements and Genoa's expectations through model reviews, engagement with stakeholders (including but not limited to engineering, detail design, other subcontractors), adhoc checks, etc.
  • Through quality checks, and engagement with 3DM teams and stakeholders (engineering, detail design, other subcontractors, etc.), direct the PD 3DM technical quality produced by Genoa's team and ensure compliance against project requirements and Genoa's expectations.
  • Act as the Electrical Technical Authority for the Electrical discipline, making technical decisions whenever a conflict exists between 3D teams/designers/leads.
  • Guide technical standardization (quality, solutions, good practice) for the electrical discipline across all Genoa designers.
  • Potentially be the point of contact for discipline leads.
  • Liaison with Platform Integration Manager, Engineering Leads, Detail Design Area / Discipline Leads, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve major and significant discipline design issues.
  • Work closely with Quality Lead to ensure consistency across Zones and risks to quality are communicated regularly.
  • Assist the Configuration Management team in estimating effort related to the Electrical Discipline.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED IN YOUR TOOLKIT

  • Technical diploma or degree in a related discipline (naval architecture, marine engineering systems design; mechanical, HVAC or electrical design) or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • Marine design experience in related discipline, either electrical, distributed/marine systems, or a combination.
  • Understanding of basic discipline concepts, and knowledge of discipline principles.
  • Experience working directly with regulatory bodies and classification societies.
  • Experience with 3D product models for new ship construction &/or refit projects.
  • Experience with CMPIC or other cable management software.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD and ShipConstructor is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the use of AVEVA, Cadmatic, Foran or other ship design software would be an asset.
  • Exposure to a shipyard or production environment is an asset.
  • Exposure in creating cable pull and termination sheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet project deadlines and problem solve.
  • Estimating knowledge would be an extra bonus.
