The responsibilities of the role include:
- Utilizing skills and aptitudes to support a variety of production needs.
- Machining products to tight tolerances in nonmanufacturing environment.
- Working independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.
- Computing and verifying dimensions to ensure accuracy.
- Observing all applicable safety practices and immediately reporting any unsafe practices or conditions.
- Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.
- The ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints.
- The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Winnipeg only:
Successful completion of TOWES (Test of Workplace Essential Skills) which will be facilitated and paid for by StandardAero (Red Seal Journeypersons excluded).
Requirements for different levels of Machinist at StandardAero:
Machinist (Apprentice)
- Enrolled or willing to enroll in a machinist apprenticeship
- Minimal experience required
- Completed Level II and/or III of a machinist apprenticeship program
- Minimum of 2 years manual machining experience
- Red Seal Machinist
- Minimum of 6 years manual machining experience
