Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Ownership Group of PMP, the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of their assigned project(s), including the planning, management, and execution of a project.
Specifically, the Project Manager will:
- Lead by example; lead the project team by taking responsibility for each assigned project.
- Establishes and communicates project expectations and goals to other team members.
- Is responsible for understanding the scope of work and contractual agreements for each project.
- Develops and implements a sitespecific document control system.
- Develop with the site Foreman a logical Format for Procore that is familiar and comprehensive by the onsite staff.
- In partnership with the Mechanical Superintendent, develops, implements and enforce a sitespecific health and safety plan.
- In partnership with the Mechanical Superintendent, develops and implements a site specific QAQC, Progress Management and Commissioning Plan.
- Acts as the main liaison with the project stakeholders, building a strong, trusting relationship with the client and key stakeholders. Provides guidance to stakeholders as needed.
- Produces an overall project schedule, highlighting critical path activities. Enforces schedule deadlines throughout the project.
- Assists with design coordination as needed.
- Reviews and approves shop drawings and RFI's.
- Identifies and mitigates project risk continuously.
- Procures subtrades, vendors, materials, and equipment in accordance with the project documents.
- Manages large equipment delivery logistics including hoisting plans or ensures that it is done by others.
- Attends project meetings as required.
- Depending on the size of the projects, leads the Revit team or BIM Manager to produce fabrication drawings and prefabrication designs
- Manages and tracks all financial aspects of the project and regularly reports back to the Ownership Group on financial performance.
- Manages and oversees subtrades to ensure their scope of work is in line with the project documents, schedule and QAQC program.
- Manage project manpower needs in conjunction with the Superintendent/Foreman.
- Produces and submits monthly progress draws.
- Manages the development and preparation of operational & maintenance manuals, and owner training requirements.
- Coordinate with the Mechanical Superintendent.
- Submits quotations for any additional work or changes.
- Coordinates any site instructions or changes.
- Is responsible for communicating Site Instructions to the Foreman _(if no Mechanical Superintendent on the project)_
- Is responsible for coordination of the Drawings including any and all changes to the contract drawings.
- Drawings must be maintained in a manner that the intended changes can be comprehended by all onsite staff.
- Monitors job costing and prepares reports for review by the Ownership Group.
- Provides direction to Project Coordinators.
- Collaborate with other departments (HR, Accounting) to ensure that assigned projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Participate in industry specific training programs as required to build knowledge and skills.

Education and Experience:
- 810 years in the mechanical and/or industrial construction industry.
- Previous district energy experience and/or piping systems installed to ASME B31.
- Previous light industrial experience would be considered an asset
- Formal training in construction, plumbing, or engineering would be considered an asset.
- Formal education in project management would be considered an asset
- Proficiency in Bluebeam.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with Autodesk and Trimble products.
- Prior use in Microsoft Project or similar schedule software
Final Notes:
- PMP employees work a standard 40hour work week, but hours of work may vary based on business requirements from time to time.
