Nature & Scope:

Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Assets, the Cleaning & Maintenance Technician will work as
part of a team that will ensure that the building and all equipment within the facility is clean and in
good working order.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned as per established protocols; monitor all areas by

walking throughout facility regularly

Clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots
Know, follow and promote all established procedures and safety standards
Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services
Perform pool chemistry tests regularly and record readings
Do minor repairs and maintenance such as painting, plumbing, repairing drywall, and

- assembling equipment; Minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks

Ensure good relations with YMCA personnel, members, guest and the public
Have the ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 lbs (18kg) as necessary
Assist with coverage of shifts as needed

Qualifications:

Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than

120 days prior to date of hire, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario

Current Standard First Aid and CPR level "C"
