Nature & Scope:

Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Assets, the Cleaning & Maintenance Technician will work as
part of a team that will ensure that the building and all equipment within the facility is clean and in
good working order.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that all assigned areas are cleaned as per established protocols; monitor all areas by
walking throughout facility regularly

  • Clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots
  • Know, follow and promote all established procedures and safety standards
  • Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services
  • Perform pool chemistry tests regularly and record readings
  • Do minor repairs and maintenance such as painting, plumbing, repairing drywall, and
- assembling equipment; Minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks
  • Ensure good relations with YMCA personnel, members, guest and the public
  • Have the ability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 40 lbs (18kg) as necessary
  • Assist with coverage of shifts as needed

Qualifications:


  • Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than
120 days prior to date of hire, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR level "C"
