Reporting to the Manager of the Eating Disorders Program, the Psychologist provides psychological services including assessment, consultation, diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting for the eating disorder program service.

The Psychologist is an integral member of the inter-professional team and will support the implementation of clinical best practices, knowledge transfer, and translation of evidence into practice for disciplines working across the Mental Health and Addiction Program.

The Psychologist will also support peer case consultation and program evaluation.

Additionally, the Psychologist will work in collaboration with the Program Leadership and clinical team to support the planning and implementation of the Health Quality Standards for Eating Disorders program.


Key Qualifications:


  • Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant regional and provincial clinical standards and guidelines
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Experience working with individuals with eating disorders and other psychiatric diagnoses
  • Perform clinical screening evaluations and diagnostic assessments for eating disorders within scope of practice
  • Provide appropriate referral and treatment recommendations for patients with eating disorders
  • Work collaboratively with all team members to determine, implement, and evaluate treatment plans
  • Experience in providing a range of treatment approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, and dialectical behavioural therapy
  • Experience in providing consultation and supervision in cognitive behavioural therapy and other treatment modalities to staff on the interprofessional team
  • Review the literature, scientific studies, and stay current with any changes or developments in the fields of Eating Disorders
  • Participate in process and quality improvement work related to the program
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills combined with the ability to work independently and as part of an interprofessional team
