New Grad Opportunity:

Junior IT Analyst**
General Accountability
Reporting to an IT Manager, the incumbent is responsible for performing technical and analytical functions within the IT Department.

Depending on the role the incumbent is assigned, the work may involve software / platform development and configuration, testing and quality assurance, project management, and business analysis.


Key Job Functions

Duties include:
- establishing requirements through analysis of relevant systems and consultation with users;
- preparing detailed flow chart diagrams and program specifications, and documenting and implementing computer systems;
- liaising with business users to ensure requirements and dependencies are being met by systems and verifies that systems are operational and functioning successfully;
- coding and documenting program instructions using programming languages and environments;
- compiling, creating test plans, testing and debugging coded programs;
- performing research tasks and making recommendations as directed;
- assisting to ensure that Commission policies pertaining to security and electronic data processing (EDP) audit procedures and controls are adhered to within the department;
- developing system input documents and the resultant output reports as directed;
- attending computer courses/seminars and keeping informed of developments in relevant technology;
- following change management procedures to update systems and move code into production;
- following up on action plans, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and preparing analysis of information and reports;
- coordinating the identification and ongoing monitoring of key issues, including alignment with strategic objectives and performance measures;
- promoting a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies;
- performing related duties as assigned.

  • Communicate in a variety of mediums
  • Demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field

Education and Experience

  • Graduate (or near graduate) of a university degree, community college diploma, or technical diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, Project Management or the equivalent;
  • Coop placement experience in a related discipline

Additional Requirements

  • This position may be required to provide off hours and weekend on call support;
  • Must possess sound judgement, good organizational, analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
