Position Summary


Dining Room Attendants are a member of the site frontline team of the Heartland Housing Foundation and are responsible for providing consistently high levels of quality customer service to residents and guests by providing prompt and efficient meal service.


Responsibilities

  • Serves food and beverages in accordance with procedures, but above all in a professional, friendly and courteous manner, ensuring delivery of service meets and exceeds the HHF standards.
  • Ensures that tables are cleaned as soon as it is apparent that residents have finished their food or drink with an acceptable balance between speed, yet allowing residents to finish their meal without feeling rushed.
  • Cleans and sanitizes designated areas of the dining room.
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with residents, volunteers, family members, the public, staff, and management.
  • Responds to emergency situations as they arise. Providing appropriate followup and documentation.
  • Contribute and participate in a safe and healthy workplace
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Report all incidents and near misses
  • Report all hazards observed and implement necessary controls to ensure the health and safety of other workers, residents, and visitors.

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills with experience in food service or hospitality is an asset.
  • Enjoys working with seniors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures and serving food safety guidelines
  • Lifts and carries supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs., throughout the entire shift

Hours

  • 3:30pm 7:30pm
  • 4 days on 4 days off rotation schedule, including weekends and evenings
  • 28 hours every 2 weeks
