We are looking for an MFT Technical Leader to join our team that is responsible for corporate file transfer assets and services at National Bank of Canada.


As a Technical Leader, you'll guide the development of major IT projects and mandates that require a high level of experience and expertise and have a significant impact on the Bank's profitability and efficiency.


You will act as a leader in your field of expertise, align the various solutions for projects in the sector, and support architects in achieving the Bank's strategic objectives by reviewing and providing technical support in order to optimize the quality of services and operations.

You are responsible for keeping the assets and services in your field in operating condition. Finally, you will ensure that the members of the MFT team reach technical maturity.

What will your day-to-day tasks be?

  • Validate and deliver technology solutions that meet business needs and are in line with business orientations and roadmaps.
  • Work with the architects to define and validate nonfunctional requirements and make sure solutions meet them.
  • Act as a technological integrator for the sector's various solutions and make sure they're implemented according to the planned architecture.
  • Be responsible for implementing automations to improve the security, reliability, maintainability, availability and performance of the MFT platform.
  • Participate in building selfservice capabilities for clients.
  • Diagnose and resolve file transfer and platform issues.
  • Analyze and report platformrelated issues to the respective product providers.
  • Be flexible with providing production support 24/
  • A team player, you are the technical leader of an Agile squad of 6 to 8 people.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Solid experience in MFT products such as IBM Sterling, Axway or any other competing B2B/MFT product
  • Experience in managing a very high volume of data and file transfers and managing performance issues
  • Experience working in a Unix and Linux environment
  • Good experience with scripting (Shell, Python, XML, etc.)
  • Experience optimizing SQL queries
  • Knowledge of network protocols and security (encryption/authentication/certificates)
  • Exposure to the cloud such as AWS/Azure/GCP. A good understanding of AWS technologies, including but not limited to S3, EC2, or EKS, an asset
  • Exposure to integration technologies (Microservices, Rest API, MQ)
  • Skills on a monitoring or observability tool such as Splunk would be an added value
  • Solid debugging skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, including incident, problem and change management processes
  • Knowledge of the Scrum framework
  • Handson SAFe experience and/or certification, an asset
  • Excellent spoken, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to communicate ideas in a language that is both technical and userfriendly
  • Bilingualism (English and French), an important asset
