(FULL TIME)
A full time Certified Cook position is available at the Palmerston and District site of North Wellington Healthcare within our Support Services Department effective immediately.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A Provincial Red Seal Certificate or Cook Certificate from a recognized program that meets the standard established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
- Minimum Grade 1
- Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position, preferably in a hospital setting
- Preference to those who have also completed the Food Service Worker Program
- Adhere to all aspects of Food Safety protocol under the Ontario Public Health Standards
- Basic computer skills required
- Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Dependable, hard working and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to meet timelines
- Proven attendance record
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing/pulling carts, periodic climbing, repetitive motion and tolerance of heat.
HOURS OF WORK:
- As per department schedule
- Availability for all shifts
- As per Collective Agreement
SALARY:
$ $27.82 per hour
