New employees must provide documentation/proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status, a 2-step TB screening, as well as proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) prior to their start date at St.

Mary's General Hospital. Staff will require clearance from Employee Health and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within SMGH.

***The Patient Services Trainer is committed to the concepts of adult education, and supports staff in obtaining and maintaining the competencies and knowledge required in an environment of perpetual change. The Patient Services Trainer supports and models self-directed learning and evaluation of learning and strategically collaborates with Clinical Educators.

  • Completion of an accredited College Practical Nursing Diploma.
  • Registered Practical Nurse, in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a RPN in an adult acute care setting
  • Functional knowledge of adult education concepts.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and prioritize multiple tasks while consistently providing an excellent level of customer service.
  • Demonstrates selfdirected learning and/or professional development.
  • Successfully able to perform their function in accordance with prescribed standards that focuses on the priority of People Safety and the delivery of the highest standard of Quality Care.
  • Demonstrate the physical and mental capabilities necessary for proper and efficient performance of the essential duties of the position.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in the provision of clinical training and/or adult education.

  • Able to clearly and concisely give directions and facilitate group meetings altering the use of different approaches for directed audiences.
