Duties and Responsibilities:

Our Labourer position directly reports to the Yard Manager and assists with the loading of materials for jobsites based on requests received.

This position is based out of our Fraser Hwy Yard but will also include our various other yards within the Langley and Abbotsford areas.

The Yard Labourer also:
Performs minor carpentry work and assists the Carpenter with prefabricated items for job sites

Picks orders, counts items and organizes loads
Works with telehandlers to load and unload trucks and restack material in an organized or prescribed manner
Fixes and prepares equipment including reskinning panels, fixing cords, painting and grinding
Inspects these product(s) throughout this process
Ensures jobsite cleanliness, housekeeping in the office and upholds cleanliness procedures as required for Covid guidelines
Complies with all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site work practices and guidelines

Skills and Experience:

Experience performing basic carpentry work, measuring and using hand tools
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work safely and efficiently under mínimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
Ability to handle or learn to handle heavy operating equipment
Ability to follow directions
Ability to work well with others in a fastpaced environment
Must have personal protection equipment (PPE), fall protection gear and the appropriate ticket(s) and a reliable means of transportation to job sites
Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, climb ladders and carry at least 50lbs (pounds) of weight
Must be willing and able to work overtime as required
Must be reliable and dependable and detailoriented

Salary:
$23.00-$30.00 per hour
