POSITION SUMMARY

• Work with physicians, patients, families and interprofessional teams
• Provide clinical services including assessment, intervention and consultation for in patients with cardiorespiratory, neurological and orthopaedic conditions
• Communicate all pertinent information with the healthcare team, school and community agencies in the most effective and efficient manner to plan, implement, and review the patient's total care program
• Participate in ongoing education and training and remain up to date on best practice
• Collaborate with the physiotherapy team to prioritize and manage workload
• Participate in the supervision of students and support personnel and in teaching, and research
• Represent Physiotherapy or Health Discipline Practice on committees
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• This position is for inpatient weekend coverage. Possible weekday coverage as per the candidate's availability
   

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Essential)
• Minimum of two years' experience in paediatrics (Preferred)
• Inpatient hospital experience (Preferred)
• Advanced training in orthopaedic, neurodevelopmental, cardiorespiratory and/or other specialized techniques (Preferred)
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing (Essential)
• Demonstrated ability to work interprofessionally (Essential)
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills (Essential)
• Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
• Bilingualism (English and French) (Essential)

RÉSUMÉ DES FONCTIONS

• Travailler avec les médecins, les patients et leurs familles et avec les membres des équipes interprofessionnelles.
• Mener des évaluations, des interventions et des consultations auprès des patients hospitalisés qui ont des troubles cardiorespiratoires, neurologiques et orthopédiques.
• Travailler en collaboration avec diverses cliniques au besoin.
• Transmettre efficacement tous les renseignements pertinents à l'équipe de soins, à l'école et aux organismes communautaires pour qu'ils puissent planifier, mettre en œuvre et réviser le programme complet de soins du patient.
• Participer à la formation continue et rester à jour sur les pratiques exemplaires.
• Collaborer avec l'équipe de physiothérapie afin d'établir les priorités et de gérer la charge de travail.
• Superviser les étudiants et le personnel de soutien; enseigner et mener des recherches.
• Représenter les services de physiothérapie ou de Pratique de la discipline de la santé à des comités.
• Participer à des initiatives d'amélioration continue de la qualité.
• Ce poste exige que la candidate ou le candidat travaille la fin de semaine auprès de patientes et patients hospitalisés. Elle ou il peut travailler les jours de semaine selon ses disponibilités.
   

QUALIFICATIONS

• Adhésion à l'Ordre des physiothérapeutes de l'Ontario (Essentiel)
• Expérience de travail d'au moins deux ans en pédiatrie (Essentiel)
• Expérience en milieu hospitalier (Préférable)
• Formation avancée en orthopédie, en techniques de neurologie du développement, cardiorespiratoires et autres techniques spécialisées (Préférable)
• Capacité de communiquer efficacement verbalement et par écrit (Essentiel)
• Capacité manifeste de travailler au sein d'une équipe interprofessionnelle (Essentiel)
• Compétence démontrée en relations interpersonnelles (Essentiel)
• Vérification du casier judiciaire (Essentiel)
• Bilinguisme (français et anglais) (Essentiel)
