Dovre Canada Limited is pleased to offer the following opportunity: Workplace Injury Coordinator located in Halifax, NS


Function:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Enhance and promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Support implementation of health and wellness programs and initiatives
  • In conjunction with Disability Manager and Health Care Professional, development of effective return to work plans.
  • Communicate as required with the Workers' Compensation Board regarding claims management activities.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the returntowork program.
  • Classification of modified duties and upkeep of suitable job bank for assignment
  • Monitor and inform appropriate departments of all status changes and transactions relating to medical leaves and accommodation.
  • Perform ergonomic risk assessments and provide recommendations for suitable modifications and/or safety prevention initiatives.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree preferably in a healthrelated discipline i.e. Occupational Health Nursing, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy and/or Disability Management

Experience:

years experience in a similar role

  • Experience working within a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • Ergonomic and return to work coordination experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Workers Compensation Board Act is an asset.
  • An understanding of the process involved in facilitating and managing effective, timely return to work programs.
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills, in being able to meet/exceed the required turnaround times.
  • Must be detail oriented, an analytical thinker and possess strong organized abilities.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the decisionmaking process especially when under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidentiality and sensitive issues with tact and discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
