Position Description:


We are seeking a highly-motivated Project Manager (PM) with strong work ethics, a natural problem-solver with advanced communication and interpersonal skills, a positive 'can do' attitude and a passion for managing projects.

High standards of quality, performance and reliability are required as well as ability / willingness to work onsite.


This person will manage Emtec client projects and be responsible for the overall success of the project, driving the methodology, project templates, deliverables and project plan while engaged on the project.

Our clients are embarking on an initiative to replace and upgrade their current IT Service Management (ITSM) platform, and athe PM will help define the deliverables required for the implementation of out-of-the-box ITSM software for our clients.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct project management activities and produce project management artifacts and deliverables as per the agreed to methodology;
  • Manage the work to be delivered under the contract by ensuring that resources are made available and that the work is developed and is fully operational within previously agreed time, cost and performance parameters;
  • Determine the composition, roles and responsibilities, budgetary requirements and terms of reference for the work to be delivered under the contract;
  • Develop and maintain project work breakdown structures (WBS) and schedules, conducting critical path analysis and identifying project scheduling and dependency issues for the work to be delivered under the contract;
  • Lead agile development practices including but not limited to Release Planning and SPRINT planning;
  • Coordinate integration/customization activities involving data integration and/or common components with client SMEs;
  • Coordinate infrastructure setup activities with client SMEs;
  • Assist in managing and contributing to proposals, in particular around the estimation process
  • Procure and provide third party products as required under the contract; and
  • Report progress of the Work to be delivered under the Contract on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.

Workplace:
Hybrid model. Currently work is remote. Moving forward there may be onsite in Ottawa with ability to work remotely from home and travelling occasionally when required


Must Have Skills:


  • Strong experience with organization change management
  • Previous experience managing federal government projects
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of IT Service Management platforms
  • 2+ years of Agile experience

Preferred Skills:


  • PMP Certification
  • ITIL certification or experience with ITSM projects delivery
  • Largescale project delivery and/or consulting firm experience highly desirable

Professional Skills:


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Ability to work with Executives
  • Strong presentation skills
