    Based in one of our North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Timmins, or Calgary locations,the Mining Survey Technician (surface) will report to the Project Manager and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on providing mining survey support and material testing services. You will be part of a team that provides survey, inspection, and material testing support on mining and other infrastructure/development projects, working on client-driven rotations.

    What You'll Do:
    As part of the Mining and Construction Services team within TULLOCH Geomatics, you will:
  • Perform volumetric surveys for quantity validation using conventional survey equipment and drones
  • Perform construction layout and as-built surveys in support of the construction of various types of infrastructure and structures
  • Perform settlement monitoring surveys using total station equipment and digital levels
  • Staking of alignments and grades
  • Layout and as-builts of blast patterns
  • Perform routine check surveys to maintain precision and accuracy in mine survey data and control points and to ensure survey stations are properly tied-in
  • Establish new survey control as required
  • Help to create red line mark ups during construction
  • Compaction testing of granular material at specified lift intervals using a nuclear densometerPlease note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job.

    What You Should Bring:
    The ideal candidate will have a college diploma from a Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Survey Technician program or have surveying/civil construction experience. Additionally, you should have:
  • High motivation with results-oriented focus
  • Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Unwavering commitment to health and safety in the workplace
  • Proficiency with mine engineering programs such as Mine Cad, AutoCAD, MOSS
  • Ability to operate a Total Station
  • Basic operations drone experience
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to manage and navigate confidential and sensitive data and matters
  • Valid, Class G driver's licence
