The Property Accounting Manager will contribute to the overall success of Coast Hotels by providing financial expertise in order to ensure that financial systems and processes meet the needs of Coast Hotels internal control and operating standards as well as comply with relevant legal and reporting requirements (internally and/or externally).

This role is responsible for multiple properties in a centralized accounting department, based at the Centralized Accounting department at Coast Hotels Corporate Office.


Responsibilities:


  • Closing of General Ledger accounts for Coast Hotels
  • Month end reporting for Coast Hotels
  • Monitoring of Daily Business Reports for a number of locations
  • Managing team of Hotel Accountants
  • Preparation of financial reports (budgets, forecasts, cashflows, etc.) and analysis for a number of locations
  • Preparation of accounts reconciliation
  • Preparation of tax remittances and other government reportorial requirements
  • Potential special projects as assigned
  • Providing back up support for accounts payable postings and processing
  • Providing back up Payroll support
  • Providing back up Capital accounting
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in general accounting
  • 12 years payroll processing experience an asset
  • Working towards accounting designation an asset
  • Proven knowledge of A/R and A/P functions required
  • Clear understanding of general accounting principles and relevant operating policies and procedures required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Accuracy with attention to detail, and the ability to multitask essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products required
  • Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamic software an asset
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights software an asset
