Accounts Receivable Clerk - GROWMARK Canadian Retail - Guelph, ON

General Accountability:


  • This position is accountable for the processing and maintenance of customer accounts by using established credit and collection procedures

Reports To:


Supervisor, Accounts Receivable
Location:

Central Office, 105 Silvercreek Parkway North, Guelph, ON
Specific Accountabilities:


  • Process credit memos and cheque requests as required.
  • Manage communication as with Third Party Collections.
  • Post returned cheques for all accounts and prepare NSF letters. Follow up with customer to collect the payment.
  • Post declined credit card payments for all accounts and prepare declined letters. Follow up with customer to collect the payment.
  • Contact the customer for expired credit card information.
  • Post NSF and returned payments for Pre-Authorized Payments accounts. Follow up with customer to collect the payment.
  • Amend account information (address changes, etc.).
  • Process EFT payments from all banks.
  • Process monthly discounts for customers as required.
  • Manage the John Deere program.
  • Reconcile customer accounts.
  • Responsible for posting payments to customers' accounts per customer instructions.
  • Process credit card payments for cash customers.
  • Update customer credit card information securely.
  • Address Budget customer inquiries and provide info as to how amounts were calculated.
  • Provide customer with documentation as well as instruction to be set up for pre-authorized payments.
  • Provide banking info to supervisor to set up customers for automatic payments.
  • Have a full understanding of our business and the processes in place to maintain effective customer service.
  • Ensure that all items on a daily deposit are posted to either a customer or G/L account.
  • Ensure unposted payments are identified and logged.
  • Investigates miscellaneous cheques with no back up for proper reconciliation.
  • Process mailers as needed.
  • Re-produce statements and invoices as requested by the customer.
  • Be able to support any customer inquiries regarding our online customer portal.
  • Consistently review processes and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency of the system.
  • Understands and adheres to Company Credit Policy.
  • Understands and follows Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Secondary school diploma (minimum)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional telephone skills and ability to provide high level of customer service.
