- supporting students in the
- assisting students who have physical, sensory or behavioural challenges, and/or medical conditions requiring special accommodations
- assisting with planning and adapting curriculum to meet the individual needs of students under the guidance of the teacher
- supervising students during arrival, departure, lunch break and out of school field trips
- assisting students with personal care including glucose monitoring, g-tube feeding, suctioning and trachea care, colostomy change, diapering and toileting
- lifting, transferring and positioning
- a two year post secondary program in a related field
- a minimum of two years of related experience preferably in an educational environment
- experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
- experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
- proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
