COORDINATOR OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
Class 7
Members of the Administrative Staff who wish to be considered for appointment to the above position are invited to make their interest known in writing.
NATURE OF THE WORK
Participate in the development and execution of Board-level policies and objectives, both pedagogical and administrative.
Assume leadership responsibility for specific dossiers assigned by the Director of Educational Services.
Liaise with MEQ, DEM, and other educational partners or organizations to ensure successful and effective delivery of services to students.
Work cooperatively with the members of the Educational Services leadership teams, and the rest of the senior administration team, to ensure the effective delivery of services aimed at meeting the needs of all learners.
QUALIFICATIONS
Hold an undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline and have at least five years of successful experience in education.
Demonstrate a capacity for or experience in educational leadership.
Have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative and consultative team environment.
Have a broad understanding of the LBPSB and the role Educational Services Department has in the effective delivery of services to students.
Be aware of the structures, policies, cultures, and pedagogical directions operating within the Lester B. Pearson School Board.
Have a good understanding of the Education Act and the Quebec Basic School Regulations
Possess effective time management skills with the ability to separate and identify priorities.
Have strong organizational skills and an ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure.
Be computer literate and encourage use of new technologies for students and professionals.
Be an effective communicator
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE
Coordinate the delivery of educational services in conjunction with other service departments.
Manage communications with Sanction des Etudes
Manage and coordinate all ministry examinations
Assume responsibility for all aspects of the homeschooling dossier
Support school in all elements of compliance with the education act, where applicable to pedagogical requirements, qualifications, and certifications
Support schools with special program recertification, including curating of required documents
Support schools with Collecte Info requests that are pedagogical in nature
Assist with the supervision of Educational Services' personnel and the management of departmental operations, where appropriate.
Collaborate with other Departments of the school board regarding the provision of services to students (curriculum implementation, Professional Development initiatives, Mesures MEES, technology, etc.).
Represent the School Board in its relations with the MEQ, and other government agencies.
Other duties, as delegated by the Director of Educational Services.
SALARY RANGE AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is classified class 7 with remuneration and working conditions as per the "Regulation Respecting the Conditions of Employment of Management Staff of School Boards".
