ABOUT THE ROLE


We are actively looking for an Intern Analyst, Investments (Public Markets), to join our team in September 2023, for a 4-month internship (Sep Dec or 8-month internship (Sep Apr This role will be part of a growing and dynamic Investment team, reporting to the Managing Director, Public Markets.

The incumbent will be responsible for helping support the development of the Public Markets portfolio management framework, with a specific focus on building, improving and data feeding monitoring tools across the three asset classes:
public equity, public credit, and absolute return.


This is a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to gain valuable work experience in a fast-growing, dynamic environment while being a part of a new pension plan.


UPP is based in Toronto's financial district and has a hybrid work model (minimum 2 days / week in office).


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assisting in building data and analytical infrastructure for Public Markets investment analysis
  • Assisting with the monitoring of the Public Markets portfolio
  • Summarizing and reporting asset management papers and articles to management
  • Analyzing and assessing detailed manager and financial information

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or Masters' degree, in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be currently enrolled in postsecondary education
  • Proficient in Python and advanced skills in Excel
  • Possesses basic knowledge of and a keen interest in public and alternative investments
