ABOUT THE ROLE

We are actively looking for an Intern Analyst, Investments (Public Markets), to join our team in September 2023, for a 4-month internship (Sep Dec or 8-month internship (Sep Apr This role will be part of a growing and dynamic Investment team, reporting to the Managing Director, Public Markets.

The incumbent will be responsible for helping support the development of the Public Markets portfolio management framework, with a specific focus on building, improving and data feeding monitoring tools across the three asset classes:
public equity, public credit, and absolute return.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to gain valuable work experience in a fast-growing, dynamic environment while being a part of a new pension plan.

UPP is based in Toronto's financial district and has a hybrid work model (minimum 2 days / week in office).

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assisting in building data and analytical infrastructure for Public Markets investment analysis
Assisting with the monitoring of the Public Markets portfolio
Summarizing and reporting asset management papers and articles to management
Analyzing and assessing detailed manager and financial information

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Pursuing an undergraduate or Masters' degree, in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Must be currently enrolled in postsecondary education
Proficient in Python and advanced skills in Excel
Possesses basic knowledge of and a keen interest in public and alternative investments
