Our partner relates their success to the strength of their management team, adding a strong General Manager to the Executive team is key to their continued growth for many years to come.


To continue operating at their high standards, our partner is seeking a General Manager whose leadership capabilities can drive the business forward with their ability to communicate, delegate and negotiate while responsibly collaborating with other levels of management across a range of departments.

Ultimately, the General Manager should be driven by a desire to lead the business to maximum productivity and efficiency.


Position summary:


The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company including oversight of the operations, client management, and finances reporting to the Management Board.

Client management would include negotiation, oversight, and active management of the health authority RFP contract.

General operations management includes working with the operations and HR leadership teams to ensure consistent delivery of all client services through optimal resources covering staffing, equipment, IT systems and accounting.


General Manager key accountabilities will involve:

  • Assess, maintain and build company resources to satisfy stakeholder objectives.
  • Complete client relationship management after the bidding process.
  • Performance reporting & review.
  • Financial reporting.
  • Proactive optimization solutions when appropriate.
  • Lead key managers and ensure internal processes are running productively and efficiently.
  • Oversee all organization elements to ensure team members are able to deliver all services in a timely and high quality manner to achieve health authority objectives.
  • Daily coordination and maintaining relationships with internal team, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Oversee monthly operating and financial reporting.
  • Ensure company culture is maintained and nurtured.
  • Identify opportunities to grow platform through service offerings and geographic expansion.
  • Coordinate team's response to resolve any client or staffing issues that arise.

General Manager Priorities:

Phase 1- Time period to be determined (assume first 6-12 months)

  • Learn as much as possible about both the technical aspects of the business and the internal workings/communication amongst the key players.
  • Get introductions /meetings with as many of the key stakeholders and health authority contacts as possible. Begin to build relationships.
  • Learn pricing process and determine where opportunities exist to cover unaccounted costs and to increase margin.
  • Investigate other hospital transfer providers to better understand industry and best practices.
  • Develop an equipment and staffing forecast Plan, accounting for projected growth.
  • Assist with negotiation and procurement of new health authority contract.
  • Create a process and coding system to begin to track performance project by project and institute it. Help upgrade the accounting system to suit the coding system, etc. Establish a cost reporting system. Help to train staff and reinforce the importance of the process.
  • Build familiarity with existing operations and software systems.
  • Establish an understanding of the company culture.
  • Learn and understand the strengths and weaknesses of who the competition is.
  • Create a monthly reporting structure to the ownership group.
  • Implement monthly reporting package to cover key operational and financial metrics.

  • Maintain continuous business improvement cycle while expanding growth.
