    This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

    Your role

    Reporting to the Director, In-House Productions, you plan, direct and monitor activities related to developing and producing audiobooks and scripted podcasts for Radio-Canada's OHdio platform in alignment with leadership's strategic goals.

    You devise short- and long-term strategies that will enable Radio-Canada to continue to evolve and strengthen its positioning in the French-language market for audiobooks (70%) and scripted podcasts (30%).

    Key responsibilities:
    • Work in tandem with French-Canadian publishers and authors to build lasting relationships within the industry, drawing on your knowledge of industry business models and keeping up with trends.
    • Represent RC OHdio within the publishing industry.
    • Devise and implement programming strategies for audiobooks and scripted podcasts (in-house production).
    • Review upcoming titles and assess their potential to meet the needs and expectations of current and future listeners (audience development).
    • Manage productions under your responsibility in an agile, flexible and innovative manner (technical, financial and artistic aspects): adaptation of scripts, management, co-ordination, resource allocation and project control.
    • Devise release strategies that align with RC OHdio programming annual planning.
    • Continually monitor market trends and listener consumption patterns.
    We are looking for a candidate with the following:
    • University degree in communications, literature, screenwriting or a related field.
    • Eight or more years' relevant experience in the publishing industry, during which you have built up a contact network.
    • Strong knowledge of digital audio content production workflows, as well as the audiobook and scripted audio industry.
    • Ability to manage scriptwriting teams, understanding of narrative storytelling and pacing, and demonstrated story editing skills.
    • Good knowledge of digital audio content release and promotion strategies.
    • Knowledge of the digital audio environment, strategic media issues and audience behaviours.
    • Very good knowledge of financial and HR management.
    • Ability to influence others diplomatically and work well in a team.
    • Ability to advocate for the organization's positions in various forums.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and flawlessly in French, both verbally and in writing.
