Summary:


Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Ensure on time delivery and pick up of items while abiding by all traffic safety laws
• Verifying that all loads are securely fastened prior to transport
• Assist Load and unload trucks at facility and customer locations
• Inspect truck and trailer for defects and safe operating condition before each trip. Submit a written report of any defects or problems with the truck or trailer at the end of each trip
• Ensure maintenance of delivery fleet is maintained and repairs scheduled as needed
• Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of all fleet units
• Verify all shipping papers are signed and submitted daily
• Navigate truck to destination in accordance with Federal & Provincial regulations.
• Complete approved purchases using the company P-Card and submit receipts daily for processing. All purchases must be in accordance with company policy and approved by Management
• Verify that all permits and other paperwork required to transport the load are received before departure
• Report any delays due immediately to supervisor and customer. Delays could be experienced due to breakdowns, weather, or traffic conditions
• Maintain driver logs in accordance with Federal regulations
• Turn in all expenses daily with any other requested reports and or paperwork
• Report all incidents/ accidents immediately to Supervision and HSE Representative
• Meet all customer requirements when on their locations, including PPE, obeying signage, and loading/reporting procedures
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Actively participate in FET's Health, Safety and Environment program.

Skills/Knowledge

• Knowledge of DOT regulations
• Experience in securing and tying down of loads to ensure safe transportation
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Professional customer service skills
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Class 5 Driver's License (no GDL).

Experience

• 3+ years of commercial driving experience
• 2+ years driving experience with a 5 Ton truck or larger
• 3+ years of forklift experience preferred
• 1+ year experience completing a logbook, preferred
• Transportation of oversized load experience required
• Clean Driver's Abstract (3 years)

• Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- logbook: 1 year (preferred)

- transporting oversized loads: 1 year (preferred)
- driving 5T truck or larger: 2 years (preferred)

• Commercial driving: 3 years (preferred)
• Forklift: 3 years (preferred)

- clean driving: 3 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:
- class 5 (required)
