Manager, Accounting and Funder Financial Reporting

(Permanent Full-time, 35 hours/week)

(Non-Bargaining unit member)


The Accounting and Funder Financial Reporting Manager, under the direction of the Senior Manager, Accounting and the Director of Finance & Administration will be responsible for maintaining and updating the general ledger structure and the preparation of YouthLink's monthly reconciliations and financial reports.

This will include responsibility for ensuring the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions recorded and maintaining strong internal controls.

This position works closely with non-financial managers to set-up, produce and monitor the financial reports to meet the financial reporting requirements of YouthLink's various funders.


Your Role

Accounting (50%):


Provides support to the Senior Manager, Accounting, in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the monthly financial statement close process.

Actively maintains and updates general ledger structure to facilitate internal and funder financial reporting.


Preparation of schedules, reports, analytical reviews and reconciliations to support the financial statements including schedules required for internal, external, tax or regulatory audits.


Works alongside the Accounts Payable and Special Projects and assists in other tasks to help the Senior Manager, Accounting support YouthLink reach its financial priorities.


Funder Finance Reporting (50%):


Provides support to the Senior Manager, Accounting by meeting regularly with non-finance managers to set-up, produce and monitor the financial reports to meet the financial reporting requirements of YouthLink's various funders.

Produce and maintain a schedule of YouthLink's funder submission deadlines.


Annually, or bi-annually works closely with the Chief Executive Director and management to support the United Way submission and other significant tasks.

(*) The 50% split is per year as timing is reporting and submission driven. For example, this position may work 100% on the Accounting tasks in the weekly prior to the annual external audit and then 100% on the funder reporting tasks to meet a funder financial reporting deadline (or a variation thereof).


Collaborates with staff and other stakeholders:
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting.

The position also interacts heavily with many non-finance managers and occasionally with the Chief Executive Officer, other Directors, Managers and other staff across the organisation.


Growth and Development:

Participates in team meetings as required. Participates in all mandatory professional training provided by the Agency. Is generally working towards a CPA designation.

Education:


  • Undergraduate Degree / Diploma in Accounting, Economic or Business Administration or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
