Train Lab Manager

He/she manages the Test Laboratory on a site
He/she develops, maintains, improves the testing means, methods and know-how in order to obtain / maintain the accreditation on one
or several domains (EN 17025 or equivalent) and propose relevant solutions for validation, investigations, R&D, innovation
Test Laboratory can carry out physical measurements and/or functional tests (TrainLab facilities for instance).


Responsibilities:


Accountable for:

  • Ensuring compliance of EHS directives and instructions by the test lab team members (inside and outside test lab facilities)
  • Managing P&L wise the

Test Laboratory:
Define the investment (CAPEX), optimise test means implementation and maintenance

  • Ensuring test lab most relevant contribution to Alstom R&D and Innovation strategy
  • Implementing, managing and continuously improving the quality system of the Test Laboratory
  • Developing and ensuring the preservation of external recognitions (COFRAC, ISO, IRIS, )
  • Ensuring the achievement of the tests in accordance with the SQCD commitment

Responsible for:

  • Leading the Test laboratory Team (Technically and Quality wise) and coordinating the test domains
  • Guaranteeing the independence, the integrity and the confidentiality of the staff
  • Defining the objectives of the staff and managing competencies
  • Managing reviews and continuous improvement actions, ensuring the followup and the closing of the quality action plan resulting from
- the audits, reviews

  • Build partnerships internally and externally in close relationship with Alstom Innovation axes
Knowledge & ExperienceMastering of testing standards (EN17025), methods, tools and means

  • Train system knowledge (at least 2 years)
  • Practical experience on testing phases (minimum of 2 years' experience in Railway or Health, Defense, Aeronautical, Automotive
- domains).

  • Experience in team management: 2 to 5 years depending on the team size, and on number of domains treated by the Test laboratory
  • Managing work packages for external customers
  • Fluent in English
