Description

Working under the direction of the Director of Redevelopment, the Project Coordinator, Redevelopment is responsible for the coordination of renovation planning, new construction and redevelopment of the facilities of the Hospital, as well as for the implementation of detailed architectural design work correlating to hospital initiatives such as Strategic Plan, Master Plan and Hospital Restructuring.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Providing project coordination for new construction, renovation projects and redevelopment of the physical facilities of the Hospital

Coordination and tracking of all associated contract documentation related to construction projects including processing and administering invoices, payments, project administration documents, deficiency reports and track spending

Working within the set project budget and schedule to complete projects

Liaising regularly with users to provide project status, manage expectations and concerns proactively

Completing the review of project documentation when consultants are utilized, completion of necessary documentation to acquire building permits from the City of Toronto

Liaising with authorities of appropriate jurisdiction, and preparation of documents for approvals

Coordination of contract administration including supervision of scheduling, review of project documentation and shop drawings, budget and project document administration

Coordination of Hospital service departments (i.e. Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Environmental Services, Finance) via team/move meetings and/or regular project progress reports to ensure active input on project planning, scheduling and completion of associated assigned duties

Coordination of the commissioning of project including ensuring the provision of maintenance, operation and certification documents and post-occupancy evaluation with user groups and consultants

Performing all projects with mínimal disruption to the Hospital via hospital-wide communication when impacted and proactive execution of duties

Maintaining the master drawings of the facility

Coordination of the programming and architectural design process to support all corporate projects

Liaising with key stakeholders to interpret and establish project requirements, project feasibility, design parameters, schematic design and priorities to achieve consensus on proposed design solutions and the implementation process

Assisting the Project Manager in the consolidation and interpretation of user requirements, production/coordination of the project requirements into a spatial design, development and creation of functional program, project design and construction documents (with professional Architects and Consultants where utilized) including scope of work, tender documents, construction drawings, value engineering, specification writing and oversight of the budget requirements

Coordinating outside consultants and vendors related to the project¿s design development and implementation, liaison with cost consultants and/or Engineering Department (when utilized)

Participation in the planning for short-term and long term project prioritization

Coordinating space plans, furniture layouts as required

Participating on various internal committees relating to facility development and long-range planning, support to the Hospital Space Committee and Master Space Committee

QUALIFICATIONS:
Post Secondary Degree or Diploma - design and/or architecture related is required.

Minimum 5 years work experience in Project Management and Design/Architecture is required. Healthcare specific experience is preferred.

Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders in diverse professions, industries, and areas of expertise.

Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Visio, Project), Revit, Auto CAD, Bluebeam Revu, 3D Studio Max, Adobe CS6
