Relish requires an Accounting and Finance Manager to help establish an in-house practice, while providing leadership, guidance and hands-on contributions with regard to best practices, processes, and policies, across both the accounting and finance practice area.

The role will also specifically require a 'roll up your sleeves' hands-on approach, until such time that the department is staffed with supporting roles.

The Accounting and Finance Manager will help design and staff the operational practice.

The Accounting and Finance Manager is responsible for all accounting and operational finance deliverables, while working in unison with several business departments on a weekly basis.

Your main function is to maintain the integrity of our accounting processes and systems, diving deep into data and performing analyses to report on financial performance.

You implement financial process improvements, actively ensure internal controls are in place, and lead numerous entities' month-end and year-end processes.

When required, you act as a consultant to the Production teams and Leadership, to ensure budget and procurement processes are sound and sustainable.

Reporting to the VP Operations, you collaborate with the Finance and Accounting teams and other departments to ensure the business units, products and enterprises have access to reliable, on-demand insight and information in order to make sound decisions around budgets, investments, debt and financing.

Finance Responsibilities may include
:

• Assessment and guidance re accounting structures, GL and budgets
• Support with monthend, quarter

- and year-end reconciliations and reporting

• SR&ED tax credit process oversight and project management (Q1 annually)
• OIDMTC tax credit process oversight and project management (Q1 annually)
• BC Film and TV tax credit process support and reporting (ongoing)
• Quarterly sales and margin reporting across entities, as well as consolidated
• Year End reporting, working with outside accountants to reconcile and file T2s and T4s on time
• Sales tax reporting and filing (5 entities, and growing quarterly)
• EHT reporting and filing (5 entities, and growing quarterly)
• Health and Safety reporting, and filing (WorkSafeBC)
• Assist with external review/audit processes, including management of reporting and responses to tax authorities, Executive and Production leads
• Assist Finance team with reconciliation and controls on GRSP/DPSP and benefit programs
• Ad hoc reporting in support of Operations, Growth, Productions and Executive

Accounting Reponsibilities may include
:

• Lead Quarterly finance meeting presentations, reporting and guidance
• Be responsible for cash flow reporting, including development and maintenance of cash flow forecasts both per entity and across the consolidated enterprise
• Provide oversight on production cost reporting processes, including refining processes, improving accuracy of reporting, and collaborating with production leads to establish a disciplined process across all operating entities
• Establishment of and maintenance of a budgeting practice (products, sales, marketing, promotion etc.)
• Work with outside counsel on tax strategies both immediate and longterm, and implement practices accordingly
• Assist with external review/audit processes, including management of reporting and responses to tax authorities, Executive and Production leads

• You have excellent communication skills, including written, and be able to relay information to all levels of personnel both inside and outside the company effectively
• You're proficient in QBO
• Nice to have: multientity accounting knowledge and experience
