Successful Investor Wealth Management Inc.


This position is for our Wealth Management division working with perspective clients looking for a firm to manage their investment portfolio. This role does not sell subscriptions for our publishing business.

We are a Toronto-based organization, but our portfolio management clients are spread out across Canada. We began managing money on an extremely modest scale at the start of the millennium.

Our AUM (Assets Under Management) reached the $100 million milestone in 2004; we hit $200 million in 2007; we doubled that figure to $400 million in 2013; and we are now close to the $1 billion mark.

Our growth continues, and we are taking steps to speed it up by building our team and expanding our marketing activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Master the threepart Successful Investor Approach to investing; explain and educate prospects on Successful Investor's investment philosophy in a clear, concise and easy to understand manner.

  • Meet set sales targets and objectives as assigned.
  • Prepare and present ongoing webinars/seminars to educate prospects, generate leads and increase assets under management. Source and manage leads generated through webinars/seminars.
  • Using an effective plan and call/account planning structure, manage leads in the sales pipeline to ensure they move through the funnel appropriately.
  • Address objections in a professional, prepared and courteous manner.
  • Provide support to the Sales & Client Service Associate as needed to onboard leads ready to sign as clients.
  • Assist with departmental administration, account opening paperwork, and research.
  • Assist with funnel and department reporting.
  • Maintain and foster connections with existing clients to further strengthen client relationships and generate new referrals and incremental investment deposits.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS (Qualifications, Experience & Skills):


  • University degree in business or equivalent.
  • 35 years sales experience in B2C environment.
  • Knowledge of KYC rules under IIROC, and IIROC procedures.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course.
  • Wealth management sales experience is preferred.
  • Completion of (or enrollment in) the CFA Program considered an asset.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Solid presentation skills in conducting seminars/webinars.
  • Results oriented and highly driven to achieve set goals and targets.
  • Detail oriented, thorough and organized.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Dynamic and articulate.
  • Strong client focus.
  • Personable with the ability to win over new prospects.
  • Optimistic to close even the most difficult sale.

OTHER INFORMATION:


  • Working hours are typically 9:00am 5:00pm but may occasionally run beyond based on workload and deadlines, as well as to accommodate client schedules.
  • Will include attending some offsite meetings, and occasional overnight travel.

Compensation

  • Salary plus quarterly sales commissions.
Located near Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave. in North York, Toronto.
