What is the opportunity?
RBC is seeking Olympic and Para athletes across Canada to join the RBC Olympians Program.

This national initiative provides elite Canadian athletes with an opportunity to gain financial support and career development skills, in a flexible work/partnership environment that prioritizes the time necessary for athletes to train and compete on the world stage.

Athletes will partner with RBC on various national and regional initiatives, engage with RBC employees and clients and inspire communities with messages of commitment, excellence, teamwork and leadership while championing RBC's support of Team Canada, Canadian athletes and the Olympic movement.

RBC Olympians will also be integrated through various speaking engagements, in-person and virtual appearances at RBC-sponsored events, and act as an RBC ambassador through social media.

For those who qualify, select RBC Olympians will also take on in-office work experience in RBC's regional marketing and communications departments in roles tailored around the athlete's career goals and athletic schedule.

This exciting opportunity begins October 2nd, 2023.

What will you do?

You will represent RBC through a number of appearances or public speaking engagements where you will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse audiences.

You are a creative individual with the ability to easily share your life stories and experiences with youth, RBC employees, clients, and other stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

You're one of the following:
A currently competing, Sport Canada AAP carded Olympic or Para athlete, or a future Olympic or Para Games hopeful.

A non-carded athlete with a letter of recommendation from their National Sports Organization (NSO) to confirm you are in good standing with your NSO and are committed to train and compete for your NSO representing Canada for the upcoming year.

A recently retired Olympic or Para athlete who has not been retired from sport for more than two years at the time of applying.

Must-have**:

Adaptable within a fastpaced environment
Strong interpersonal skills to build partnerships with key stakeholders
Commitment to continuous learning and selfimprovement
Initiative and leadership capabilities
Comfortable in both an autonomous and a team environment
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Exceptional organization and time management skills
Experience using Microsoft Office, Internet, Email, PowerPoint and Excel, depending on the role

Nice-to-have:

Previous Olympic or Para Games experience and/or international competition results
Experience engaging youth in sport and leadership
Experience with public speaking including the development and delivery of key messages
Experience working with the media
