Opened in 2012, the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is one of the Yukon's premier gathering locations, hosting a wide range of functions and celebrations and operating one of the largest meeting spaces in Whitehorse.
In addition to its event centre activities, KDCC curates its own cultural programming to promote understanding and appreciation of what it means to be a member of Kwanlin Dün First Nation and a member of a Yukon First Nation.
KDCC operates all its programs and services within a responsible fiscal context and maintains a strong financial track record through excellent financial management.
THE JOB
The Bookkeeper reports to the Comptroller.
Bookkeepers Duties include:
- Management of Accounts Payable
- Input invoices, prints cheques
- Maintain filing of invoices
- Management of Accounts Receivable
- Input weekly invoicing packages
- Report to finance Controller for review
- Maintaining filing of invoice packages
- Preparation of biweekly payroll
- Prepare using Sage 50
- Maintain personnel files
- Hand out paystubs
- Report final payroll numbers to finance controller to be paid out through scotia connects
- Ensure timely processing of invoices
- Ensure deadlines are met
- 25+ years of recent relevant bookkeeping experience
- Accounting or business degree or diploma desired
- Excellent problemsolving skills
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- Full Cycle Accounting experience required
- Canadian Payroll experience required
- Solid technology and analytical abilities

- Bank reconciliation, deposits, account management and signing authority
- Management of all finance and accounting documentation
- Daily, weekly, monthly reporting of work completed by Bookkeeper
- Assist with regulatory reporting and human resources paperwork as applicable.
Salary:
$35-$40/hr based on experience, with approximately 8 hours a week.
