Your Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Information Specialist I (CIRSI) provides consultative service and advice in poison and toxicology via telephone to both the public and health care professionals in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories.

CIRSI may also provide information related to occupational toxicology. CIRSI working at PADIS have either a pharmacy or nursing background.


Description:

As a Clinical Information Resource Specialist I with the Poison and Drug Information Service (PADIS) team, you will provide expert consultative services regarding poison and toxicology, and occupational toxicology via telephone to both the public and health care professionals.

In the CIRSI position, you will extract, interpret, and summarize the most up-to-date medical resources and latest research when providing information, treatment options and recommendations about exposure to poisons, chemicals or toxins, prescription and over the counter medications.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Nursing or Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable college. Emergency/ICU or critical care nursing experience and/or drug information background.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong clinical assessment skills and working knowledge of pharmacy. Proven ability to build and foster reciprocal relationships and build consensus. Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members, peers and both internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated independence. Emergency and/or Critical Care experience for registered nurse, preferably within the last 5 years.
