Position Summary:

Ensures the overall smooth operation of the restaurant to attain a high level of customer satisfaction, which in turn builds new business and a base of loyal customers. The primary function of this role is to assist in managing the Restaurant (Bangkok Garden, Terrace Restaurant) and any affiliated operations (Catering and Events), in the supervision of staff, while ensuring optimal customer satisfaction and maximizing of profit. Understand the importance of and promote the Company's Mission, Vision & Values, and provide direction to staff in accordance with the Company's policy and departmental procedures in order to achieve organizational goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Assists with the interviewing, hiring, and performance management of foh staff

-Ensures that staff are up to date on quality standards and departmental procedures through a strong training and development program.

· Conducts daily pre-shift and post-shift service briefings for front and back-of-house staff

· Promotes staff participation in promotional programs held several times during the year.

· Opens and closes the restaurant as required and in line with department standards and operational practices.

· Ensures that all daily sales receipts are properly recorded and safely deposited.

· Greets all customers and tend to their service requests.

· Performs hosting duties that include answering the phone, recording reservations, seating guests, packing delivery orders, assigning sections to wait staff etc.

-Assists with Group reservations and Catering orders.

· Maintains a professional attitude and manner at all times during your shift with the customer's total satisfaction always your first priority.

· Resolves customer concerns and/or suggestions ensuring that the customer's total satisfaction is always your first priority.

· Reports concerns from customers and/or staff to your Manager or to other Managers as appropriate.

· Assists with the ongoing maintenance of the point-of-sale systems.

· Monitors and takes action to resolve waste, misuse, and breakage.

· Monitors the cleanliness, set-up, supplies, and equipment of the restaurant and orders supplies for the restaurant.

· Liaises between the restaurants and the other departments, ensuring communication and coordination of activities.

· Enforces Company and department policies, procedures, and standards of service.

· Checks employees for cleanliness, grooming standards and proper uniform.

· Reviews, corrects, and processes payroll documentation.

· Ensures compliance with liquor, health, and fire regulations.

· Monitor's food & beverage quality and portion control, ensuring reusable food is not wasted.

· Assists in conducting monthly inventory as required. Ensures that cutlery, china, and glassware are clean, and that equipment is accounted for and put away.

· Ensures that all front of house areas is cleaned and well maintained at all times.

· Ensures that all furniture, fixtures, and equipment are in good working order and report otherwise.

· Ensures that front of the house paper supplies such as menus, business cards, tent cards, forms etc. are well stocked and prepare requisition for any shortages.

· Maintains restaurant logbook and office files such as attendance records, schedules, order forms, etc.

· Assists with other duties as reasonably assigned from time to time by management.

· Other duties as required

Skills/Qualifications:

· High school Diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum 3-years' FOH food & beverage service experience in a restaurant/food service environment.

· Minimum 1-year food & beverage supervisory experience in a restaurant/food service environment.

· Familiarity with Canadian and provincial employment and labour laws.

· Familiarity with point-of-sale systems with Silverware or Resort Suite.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of customers, employees, and management.

· Excellent organization, computer, analytical, and service-recovery skills.

· Valid Smart Serve Certification.

· Valid Food Handlers/Food Safe Certification.

· Trained in CPR and First Aid is preferred.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule: days, evenings, weekends, and /or statutory holidays.

· Punctual and committed to work schedules

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Full Service Restaurant Food & Beverage: 3 years (preferred)
  • Food & Beverage Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Smart Serve (preferred)
  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
