    Job Description Summary


    This position provides English to French, and French to English, translation, proofreading, revision and adaptation of material produced by the Marketing department for World Financial Group. It also includes management of the translation services vendor to produce additional in‑language materials beyond French Canadian.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide accurate and timely translations from English to French, and French to English, of marketing material, sales tools, market commentaries, PowerPoint presentations, press releases, legal documents and other content as required.
    • Adapt and localize content to ensure cultural relevance and compliance with Quebec language standards, while maintaining brand voice and tone.
    • Develop written solutions that motivate the desired action among Quebec French‑speaking target audience.
    • Review and revise translations internally and externally to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to linguistic and regulatory standards.
    • Proofread final copies, printer proofs and web postings to guarantee quality and correctness before publication.
    • Maintain and update the Linguistic Services terminology bank to ensure consistent usage of approved terminology across all materials.
    • Manage relationships with translation services vendors to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality multilingual materials beyond French Canadian, including negotiating timelines, monitoring performance, and enforcing quality standards.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure translated materials meet regulatory requirements and align with corporate messaging.
    • Conduct linguistic quality assurance checks and implement best practices for translation workflows and vendor management.
    • Provide guidance and recommendations on language strategy for new campaigns and initiatives, including emerging markets and additional languages.
    • Stay current with industry trends, language regulations, and translation technology to continuously improve processes and efficiency.

    Qualifications

    • University degree/college diploma in translation, or equivalent work experience.
    • Seven years of translation experience, preferably in the investment and/or insurance industry.
    • Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) (Certified Translator) Certificate.
    • Order of Certified Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters of Quebec (OTTIAQ), Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO), or Ontario Council on Community Interpreting (OCCI) affiliation.
    • Excellent research skills.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Adaptability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
    • Self‑motivated and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Working Conditions

    • Office environment.

    The Salary for this position generally ranges between $85,000 - $95,000 CAD annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors including qualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in‑office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
