Corporate Development, Applied Research and International (CDARI) is SAIT's face to industry. The division centralizes and supports industry clients to develop customized non-credit corporate training for their employees and take their innovative product and process ideas to market locally, nationally and internationally.

Within CDARI sits a number of support functions including Business Operations, Continuing Education, International, Corporate Training, Applied Research, and Business Intelligence.


CDARI is seeking an Online Instructional Assistant/Moderator for support with synchronous/virtual course deliveries through Continuing Education, Corporate Training and International opportunities.

Moderators will be required for daytime, weekday courses.


The Role:


  • Work closely with the Instructor and students to insure a successful course delivery.
  • Set up Zoom & MS Teams links for the start of course deliveries
  • Admit participants from the waiting room and monitor continued access to the group
  • Collect participant list from operations or the client
  • Take attendance at the beginning of the class and throughout to ensure 70% attendance
  • Change the participant list names for simplicity and accuracy
  • Address technical issues and questions
  • Send out student assessments if necessary
  • Control mutes
  • Facilitate chat questions, provide additional detail in chat to facilitate the understanding,
  • Provide attachments and hand outs

Qualifications:


  • Diploma or Certificate in Instructional Design, Adult Education, eLearning Development or relevant area
  • Advance knowledge of Brightspace/D2L learning management system
  • Excellent understanding of the appropriate use of technologies in postsecondary synchronous/virtual teaching and learning.
  • Teaching experience at a postsecondary institute in Canada is considered an asset
  • Online Classroom moderator experience is preferred
  • Expert with Zoom and MS Teams platforms
  • Excellent communication skills; the ability to organize and present written information
  • Strong commitment to delivery high quality instruction within set deadlines
  • Strong technology acumen

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Zoom, Learning Management Systems
  • Experience with virtual training, Brightspace/D2L
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of all areas of web based learning and virtual classrooms
  • Ability to successfully resolve issues from identification through resolution
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
