  • BCGEU: $62,828 $100,958 per annum (prorated if part time).
Collective bargaining is ongoing and salary rates will be updated once an agreement is reached and ratified

Duties:

Instruct all levels of Foundation and Apprenticeship technical training. This will include theory presentation and shop instruction.


Required Qualifications:

Three to five years demonstrated teaching or industry training experience or appropriate combination of above, including some supervisory experience.

Electrician Interprovincial Certification with having served a four-year apprenticeship and has a minimum of five years proven journeyman status working on a broad range of building projects.

Completion of Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or equivalent (if in progress, maximum two years to completion).

  • Must have recent experience working with and interpreting the Electrical Code.
  • Proven participation in trade related professional development relating to new technologies, new industry/instructional developments and trends, and supervisory experience.
  • Proven classroom management ability.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • A high level of energy and enthusiasm is essential.
  • Proven positive interpersonal skills in dealing with students.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of a wide variety of adult students returning to education.
  • Ability to work as part of a team comprised of instructors, administrators and support staff.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record
