Job Summary:

The role is based in Saskatoon and requires day-to-day responsibility for all operations ensuring optimum effectiveness and maximizing return on investment.

With strong leadership skills, operational acumen, change management, entrepreneurism, and experience, he/she will ensure profitable growth through the management of TRON's current operations.

The position will be responsible for operational initiatives and efficiencies that lead to profitable growth, financial strength, and ROI. Some trave to worksites and other offices is required.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Be accountable to the President and CEO for the financial performance of the business.
  • Lead the shortterm Strategic Planning process evaluating and developing key metrics, growth targets and profit expectations that align with overall corporate and Board objectives.
  • Act as a change agent, executing on short term objectives and action plans that support operational efficiency and business continuity. Resulting changes should result in significant efficiencies, ensure operational continuity resulting in improved margin realization and increased profitability.
  • Full P&L responsibility for operations
  • Lead the effectiveness of all processes related to operations providing the President with timely, accurate, and meaningful information on the operating conditions of the business.
  • Provide leadership, insight, guidance, and direction on business matters, including, policies and procedures, new business initiatives, and daytoday business operations.
  • Lead the development of key people and performance initiatives, including workforce planning, business continuity and operational optimization planning, performance management, and leadership development, change management leading to improved culture.
  • Maximize team performance by establishing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Improve business standards for highly ethical conduct, performance, and operating style.
  • Facilitate communications between functional areas, remove obstacles, and ensure prompt, customerfocused decision making.
  • Consistently promote TRON's mission and high standards through personal example.
  • Drive the maturity of a safety culture and lead the execution of the organization's safety program.
  • Travel to other offices and regions as required.

Qualifications:


  • P.Eng Designation.
  • PMP Designation considered an asset.
  • Advanced Software user including Procore, Blue beam. Excel, ACAD
  • 15+ years' experience in a construction leadership role in Western Canada (industrial and/or institutional and or commercial) with demonstrated progression
  • Extensive experience in strategic thinking, operations, change management, performance management, and development of personnel.
  • Demonstrated successful business judgment and a track record for achieving ethical results. Able to adapt business concepts to enhance profitability, grow the business, and set organizational policies. This includes appropriate experience in a senior management position with P&L responsibility. Financial acumen demonstrated by the ability to read, interpret and understand financial statements and other financial information.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen. Contract development and review of NDA's, T&C's, Proposals, Contracts. Ability to understand the inherent risks within the business and how to mitigate them.
  • Extensive experience with construction quality, development of construction activity planning and industrial construction projects covering multiple trades.
  • Effective leadership, strong verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation are essential to this role.
  • Good business development and commercial experience is important. Strong marketing skills.
  • Experience operating within labour relations framework, unionized environments and negotiating collective agreements.
  • Ability to work within a small company environment where multitasking is essential and a willingness to work at all levels at times. Willing to do what it takes to grow the business with new customers and into new sectors.
